|Master Class in Stitched Textiles
Course Information Page
|This course offers you way of extending your personal practice in stitched and embroidered textiles to a more mature level. It is designed to fit the needs of those students who have already achieved their City & Guilds Part 2 Certificate in Embroidery or Patchwork & Quilting, or who may have completed the Opus Advanced Course programme.
The course can be studied on a distance learning basis at home, or by attending fortnightly part-time classes at 6 Crown Street, Harrow on the Hill.
The course is designed in such a way that everyone will be enabled to pursue a personal programme of study and aim for high professional standards in all aspects of their work. The focus of related assignments and one-to-one or group discussion will offer challenges for developing personal ideas and creativity.
The format of these forums will be one-to-one tutorials for distance learning students (phone, fax, e-mail, written and face-to-face), and one-to-one tutorials combined with group seminars and presentations during the college classes.
Entry to the course is through interview and a portfolio of personal ideas, sketchbooks and resolved stitched textiles. If studied on a distance learning basis the four three-month modules cost £200 (inc. VAT) each. If studying at Harrow the cost is £184 (inc. VAT) per term. The course is held on alternate Wednesdays from 11.00am to 3.30pm. Non UK based students may wish to submit a portfolio in advance of a telephone interview.
