The courses we currently offer are listed below. They are given in ascending order of the level of skill and expertise taught on the course and required by the student. For example Beginners Embroidery is for those who have no previous experience and do not want a formal qualification, Advanced Experimental Embroidery is for those who may have completed the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma, and the BA(Hons) Embroidered Textiles is for those who have a strong background in textiles and / or art and design. The distance learning programmes in particular give the flexibility of starting at any time, and can be studied from any country in the world. For students who have little experience of drawing as well as those who would like to deepen their experience and develop new skills, this course explores a range of different themes, techniques and materials, encouraging experimentation and offering basic instruction for the beginner.

The course is designed to enable each student to find a personal language in embroidery, to work independently and to extend and develop aspects of professional practice as a textile artist. The Advanced Course is ideal for students who have completed a City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Embroidery or Patchwork and Quilting.

This course offers you a way to extend your personal practice in stitched and embroidered textiles to a more mature level. it is designed to meet the needs of those students who have already achieved their City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma or who may have completed the Opus Advanced Experimental programme.

| Gold and Metalwork Embroidery City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate |
This exciting new course is taught over four modules. Following rigorous instruction in the basic and more advancedskills of traditional goldwork embroidery, students are encouraged to explore more creative and personal approaches to metal thread work. Specialist goldwork materials packs are available to support this course.

| BA (Hons.) Embroidered Textiles |
This well established distance learning degree, validated by Middlesex University, can be studied in either part-time or full-time mode. The student is involved in a challenging and exciting programme of study, which focusses on a range of experimental stitched textile approaches underpinned by art and design practice, critical studies and related modules covering specialist areas. Successful graduates from the course have gone on to establish their own studios. teach or progress to post - graduate courses. Many have been accepted as Licentiates or Members of the Society of Designer Craftsmen. The degree is taught over three semesters with set assessment deadlines. Students are assigned a specialist tutor for each module and tutorials are conducted by phone, fax or e-mail as well as written feedback.
Successful entry on to the programme is through interview and the submission of a prtfolio of written and practical work.there is an application fee of £80. We offer a free diagnostic tutorial to all prospective applicants when we can discuss their suitability for the course prior to the formal interview
